Spring is the time of year park staff and certified volunteers  do prescribed burns at Lapham Peak to help control invasive species and help rejuvenate prairie plants. Buchthorn Buster Duane Stein created a video of a 2015 prairie burn at Lapham Peak. Enjoy the prairie burn video.

Buckthorn Busters

Buckthorn Busters (a group of the Friends/volunteers) clear invasive buckthorn and honeysuckle from the park. Work is in all areas of the park. The group works most weeks, a number of mornings weather permitting.  For more information, contact the park office.
