There are 17 miles of loop trails with varying degrees of difficulty.  The Green and Purple Loops are the easiest terrain with approximately 2.0 miles, the Blue Loop is intermediate terrain with approximately 5.8 miles and the Black Loop is advanced terrain with approximately 7.0 miles.  When there is snow, there is a 2.5 mile lighted loop. An area ski club and places offers skiing lessons.  There is a blacktopped, Plantation Path, accessible trail for wheelchairs.  The Ice Age Trail also crosses through the park. 

 

Moutain Bike trails are located on the west side of Hwy. C.  There are several miles of trails that traverse through the prairie.

Plantation Path, a blacktopped handicapped accessible trail, is located by the Homestead Hollow area. It is a one mile interpretive trail through a prairie and wooded area.

The 21st Colorama Run/Walk and Smokey Bear Fun Run will be held October 3rd, 2009 at Homestead Hollow. The 5K run tours the middle level of the park; the 10K run follows the outer perimeter trail. The 5K/10K runs began at 10:00 a.m. The walk begin at 10:05 a.m. on a 2.5K paved accessible trail suitable for wheelchairs and strollers, or the 10K/5K route. The Smokey Bear Fun Run, for participants 10 and under, began at 11:25 a.m. Run/walk participants receive a long sleeve, custom-designed T-shirt. Fun Run participants receive short sleeve T-shirts. 2009 participants can register by printing the Colorama Run/Walk form.
